Outpost Huts Privacy Policy

Outpost does not require an account, show advertising, sell personal information, or track people across apps and websites. Scrapbook entries and app preferences are stored locally on your device.

Outpost uses Apple's on-device preferences system to store:

• the identifiers of huts you add to your scrapbook;
• your preferred map style; and
• basic app preferences needed to restore the experience between launches.

This information is not used to identify you and is not sent to Outpost's service. It remains on the device until you remove it, clear the scrapbook, reset the relevant preference, or delete the app.

Location access is optional. Outpost asks for permission only after you tap the Locate Me control. If permission is granted, the app uses your current location to position and recenter the map.

Outpost does not send your precise location to the Outpost or PeakHut service in the current app flow, and it does not store a history of your location. You can change or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.

Outpost connects to PeakHut and its image service to load hut listings, metadata, attribution, and photographs. As with any internet request, those services may receive standard technical information needed to deliver the response, such as an IP address, request time, and device or network information supplied by the operating system.

Outpost does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking. Hut and photo source attribution is shown in the app where available.

When you tap Directions, Outpost passes the selected hut's name and coordinates to Apple Maps. Apple's handling of information is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your device settings.

When you tap Share, iOS presents the system share sheet. Nothing is shared until you choose a destination and confirm the action. The selected service handles what you share under its own privacy policy.

Local scrapbook entries and preferences remain on your device until you remove them or delete Outpost. You can remove one hut from its bookmark control or clear the whole scrapbook from Map Settings.

Network providers may retain limited security and operational logs for the period needed to operate and protect their services. For a question or deletion request concerning those logs, use the support contact published on Outpost's App Store page.

Outpost is a general-audience outdoor reference app and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Outpost uses the security protections provided by iOS and encrypted HTTPS connections for network requests. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

This policy may be updated when Outpost's features or data practices change. The effective date above will be revised when a new version is published.
